Just going long (buying shares in the hope they only go up) or also short (the opposite, eg also profiting when share prices fall too)?
Most brokers have demo/paper accounts now which allow you to trade with fake money. If you don't mind about it being on the computer rather than just an iPhone or iPad app - tradingview.com is very good and has recently added a virtual trading account (where you can buy and sell shares, eg go long and short) without risking your own money. I think the plan is to at some stage for them to link their trading platform to brokers that offer actual trading accounts but for now it's purely virtual (but with real price movements and charts etc). It's very easy to join and set stuff up.
What kind of strategies are you hoping to try out or that you've been introduced to so far if you don't mind me asking? I know Tony Martin on here also is learning about FX and indices trading I believe
