Seems like over analysis to me

There could be a number of different factors at play and we might never know.

If I were guessing i would say his nose might have been out slightly out of joint by not being one of the first names on the team sheet given how well he did last season, so when this offer came along he might well have fancied it. A 4 year contract on big money with promotion incentives must be very appealing for a 28 year old.

I don't think there's been a particular falling out, AN just doesn't rate BJ as highly as our other midfielders or as highly as BJ would like.

That's just my theory, I could be wrong - there might be some huge scandal but I don't think so.
