agreed, imo we've never completely recovered from Lambert's first transfer

window in the prem. That was the key time to push on; the first time in years we had the opportunity to make quality signings that would form the backbone of the squad for a few years.

Instead we signed Morison, Vaughan, E Bennett, R Bennett, Barnett, Ayala and Pilkington.

No wonder he jumped ship after filling the squad up with that lot.
