Where's the money gone?

I estimate that we have spent around ?1.25m on transfer fees since the summer. With the money we got for Francis, Helveg, Jonson and Svensson this should leave us with a healthy transfer surplus.

Added to this, the parachute payments, season ticket sell out, second best supported club in the division, hotel money. Where has it all gone?

Say we got ?7m for Ashton - would Nigel spend ?1.5m on a replacement only for Doncaster to say there is no more money?
