I have read that anyone can be hynotised but as you say

You have to want to be hypnotised. And I also know lots of people think they can't be hypnotised as they've gone for hypnotherapy with people who are not properly qualified and so no matter how much you want to be hypnotised it won't happen because the methods are wrong.
