I actually would have taken Ashley Cole

I can see the rationale for Shaw had he played a few more games but I think Cole has over the years in really big games had the best wingers in the world (i.e. Figo, Ronaldo) in his pocket and he would have been worth having in the squad, especially as the CB pairing is ropey as hell.
