Hughton's failure was that he utterly failed to appreciate what Holt and Hoolahan brought

to the side.

Once he'd decided to replace both, he utterly failed (along with Chester) to identify targets that were upgrades on them.

For Holt we needed a target man who could hold up the ball, win headers and score up to 10 goals in the Prem.

For Wes, we needed a playmaker to build our attacking play through and chip in with 5-10 goals.

Failed on both counts to get these types of players.
