Where I think it went wrong under Hughton

OK, so I think it's quite simple to be honest....

When Lambert took over we had a 7 year plan to get in to the Premier League. Everyone was informed of this, everyone from the board, manager, players and fans knew what our aim was, and got behind that together.

Once Lambert went there WAS no plan after consolidating our place in the Premier League, nothing was announced as "Right, this is the next step now we've achieved our 7 year goal early".

When Hughton joined noone was told what his aims were except for "Avoid the bottom 3". The ambitions appeared to die based on what was coming out from those at the top, and as a result I think the fans and players probably both were disappointed that what was being said from the manager etc wasn't suggesting we were trying to make any more progress.

As a result things have just gone backwards, not helped by the fact that Hughton praised up literally everyone we played and completely changed the mindset that Lambert had installed in his time here.

The change around of a large number of key players from Lambert's reign to Hughton's reign, as well as the "We'll try to win every game" to "We'll try not to lose every game" didn't sit well with the fans, or the players, hence the slow but predictable drop down the table, which leaves us where we are now.

For next season I hope we hire a new manager with ambition, drive, positivity and hear messages from McNally, the board, the players and the manager that suggest a new plan is in place that we can all get behind once more.

Roll on the next chapter in Norwich City, starting next season.
