Home/away thing in football. Average sides fear away games, and their mental approach is therefore wrong from the outset. Average sides also gain a huge amount when playing at home: OUR fans, OUR pitch, OUR fortress.
Then consider that the same applies in reverse, with average sides who come to CR having the same mentality issues as we have on our travels. So they look for a point, we're suited to that kind of tight, bitty sort of game, we win our fair share of them, and draw most of the others.
This doesn't mean that Hughton is setting us out defensively. I honestly don't think he is. I think the problem is in the players' heads - but they share that with many, many other teams.
