The Burnley situation is slightly different
For reasons of no importance I found myself in the Burnley Directors rooms both prior to, during and after our abject display there last November. I was speaking to the Chairmans partner re how crap we were and how they had better players on rubbish crowds. Although Burnley's population is only about 80K
It appears that there are a consortium of local business people who regularly stump up money to purchase or pay wages of players (bit like the pre-Premier days) . She also said they found it easy to pick up Premiership "misfits" like Eagles because they come from local clubs and arent required to move houser and family.
