It's a really good question
and one I can't answer. Everytime I think one way, I can see the opposite viewpoint and vice versa
I guess, to an extent yes, but to what extent I don't know
The Lupoli scenario just crept up and was/has been pounced on. Even though Lita was the main man on loan, the second he went back, the Lupoli thing rose to the fore instantly
Even though Roeder said when he arrived on loan that he needs to be more physical, when it was repeated as to why he wasn't playing, many saw that as Roeder clutching for an excuse, when it's what he's thought all along
As it happens, he is lightweight, and GR's got a point
Thing is, Lupoli was always going to get his chance around now because of Lita going back and Cureton going back on loan
The fans have created this "you should play lupoli" thing, so that if he did play well grabbing the opportunity, they could get more insensed and all rally round and say "see, we know, why don't you?"
If he doesn't become the impact player expected, I doubt many will admit it, more likely, like Cureton, they'll claim the usual "he's been mismanaged"
Either way, with both players, they're not the bulky Helguson or Iversen that Roeder's wanted all along, which is why Russell played up front at charlton, not because Roeder hates Lupoli. That's stuff of playground comics really. Players in the main, remain professional and do their job. You'd know if it went horribly wrong, we saw it with Grant and others before. We're actually playing alright, and everyones playing for Roeder. It's just not happening
