"Like" isn't even the important thing here, it's "respect".

I've worked for a few utter c**ts. Successful ones mind, ones you could respect, in the isolated work environment. But you wouldn't go for a beer and a curry with them.

If the players really dislike Roeder, but still respect him as their manager, then the very fact that they dislike him is worth nothing.

If he's lost their respect, then there's trouble.
