modern soldiers are paid to kill and be killed throught their own choice

conscriptees during the first and second world wars (and possibly the Korean war?) didn't have much say in the matter

but that aside, what would've happened if Britain had stayed out of the 1st world war against what would have happened had Britian not agreed to invade Iraq?
