I think they're very different wars

I'm not saying they're not worth remembering because I'm not callous (our churchyard contains the grave of one of the earliest Iraq casualties, the youngest to die at that time) but I fear that the whole act now is a bit like "World ribbon days" where it's a little bit more about being emotional and wearing a 'tag', rather than actually considering what it all means. We didn't learn by remembering the war dead and the constant assignment of hero status to anyone who dies in uniform now is devaluing rather than rewarding.
