It's a bit context dependent isn't it?

If, at the end of her tenure, Delia was going to hand the club on to someone in a similar position to herself, then you can well see that she'd write the money off.

If someone with a HUGE hatful of cash (who gave his daughters around about 20 million last year to play with) offers (as he has done) to give her nothing for her time, effort and money, then I can understand the stance that she'd want something back - especially when she's still going to be a figurehead for the club and might end up with a load fo flack if the investment goes all Leicester. . . .
