By that argument though dogs have been around a lot longer than fireworks

Mine cowers, shivering in fear, when they go off. A few times a year - Guy Fawkes, New Year, Diwali, the odd coronation, whatever, is one thing. They're pretty incessant at the minute. Even if it was once a week but we all knew what kind of time on what day, people would know to go outside to ooh and ahh if they wanted and those with dogs could take necessary steps as well.

I couldn't play extremely loud rock music at any time of day or night regardless of the effect on the neighbours. More's the pity tbh wake some of the old buggers up.
