Your point seems to be that he’s not good enough to play top flight European football

Or at least that he hasn’t really demonstrated that yet. That is a statement of the obvious, because if he was, he wouldn’t be coming to NCFC from Real Madrid.

Everyone else’s point (well mine at least) is that not having amazing stats at a higher level than we play is not an indication that he isn’t good enough to do very well in the championship. The championship is demanding, but in a very different way to the bundesliga or serie A.

You keep focusing on his stats in the bundesliga and serie a as a black mark against him, but it’s a red herring because if they were better, we’d have no hope of getting him. The point to be taken from his stats is that he has more top level appearances than most players in our squad. Only exceptions are Duffy, sarge (stats at that level also not good) and barnes (maybe Kenny and Hanley too?)

Furthermore, you’re missing my point; we’d all be delighted if he was as good as any of sarge, Sara, rowe or Aarons; the players you argue could have been good enough to play 30 games in two seasons for dortmund. There’s no downside to this deal for us, but plenty for him if it doesn’t go well. Perfect from our perspective; logic says he wouldn’t be coming if he wasn’t up for a big challenge and didn’t back himself
