Nationalisation often mentioned for water, gas, electricity

etc but my first choice would be insurance. It’s a one-way bet for the companies and I’ve also noticed just how much more detail they’re taking in areas such as travel so that they have you over a barrel. I’ve given up on areas such as bicycle cover due to the ridiculous cost and the fact that the requirements for example in locking a bike are way over the top for practicality. With bikes I now kind of “self insure” by locking them up inside a locked garage and I take out basic house and contents insurance so that the essentials are only covered. I do think it’s daylight robbery and seems these days to completely ignore an individuals record of no claims.
