he’s doing a Cantwell or something. He doesn’t indicate anywhere in there that he wouldn’t be fine with staying at Norwich.

Referring to Norwich as a parent club is simply because he is trying to say that Norwich are the club to which he is contracted. Just because, unsurprisingly for a footballer, his vocabulary lets him down at that point doesn’t mean he is distancing himself at all.

Interesting stats below. It supports my observations of when I’d seen Idah play for Celtic he didn’t look any better or worse than at Norwich - it was more about the standard of opposition. He seemed to be enjoying himself more but I guess winning helps, and so does fan support.

Watching Tzolis in Bundesliga 2, Cantwell and Dowell at Rangers - same experience for me. Just shows how strong the Championship is. I recently saw one of those clickbait football pages suggesting that it after Premier League, Bundesliga, La Liga and Serie A, there was a big gap followed by Ligue 1 narrowly ahead of the Championship (simply due to PSG) , and after those the likes of the Portuguese, Dutch, Scandinavian, Scottish leagues.

I would say that’s about right.
