That's true...
Sainz seemed to go for the ball, one foot and low, and was in front of Howson. For me, it was Howson's "tackle" in the back of Sainz' thigh that gave him the mementum to spin. If that make's sense! I feel that the slight movement of his foot toward Howson that is up for interpretation - daft question, but is there ever a ref's report on the exact reason for the red card?
