I do a lot of 6082 and 7075 aluminium turning
I use a good quality titanium grade ground carbide insert for turning under 150 bar high pressure neat cutting oil to get through the vapour pocket around the tool tip, then electro finish the components in ceramic media, then into maize dosed with a finishing compound for a few hours.
Once they've been out for anodising in an array of pretty colours they look the bollocks.
