I really don't think it works like that
1. "cheaper land outside" may well be greenbelt, and so really tough to get planning consent for. Note; we struggled to get permission for the indoor dome at Colney, so what chance a 35k venue with 5,000 parking spaces?
2. "outside" means away from the brilliant public transport links CR has & a 180 degree turn on the environmental commitments the club has made ("NCFC continues to be engaged in a process aimed at reducing our energy & greenhouse gas emissions")
3. "outside" also means no decent choice of pubs or eateries before & after the match
4. And, even in USA, which has more spare land than it knows what to do with, the recent trend is towards building new stadia in Downtown areas rather than in the burbs User Posted Link
I doubt the finances would work, as even Brentford's new dump cost GBP70m.
