I guess we can take two things from this.

Absolutely, it is pretty clear that Attanasio is not throwing money at ANY of this sports projects. He is not involved in any of these endeavours to simply piss money up the wall. Anyone that is expecting a wild spending spree to accompany their eventual take over is I suspect setting themselves up for a bit of a disappointment. (And FWIW, I still think that if we end up in League 1 or languishing in the lower reaches of the Champs with f**k all going for us, Attanasio will pull his money out sharpish. He's not a fool.)

That said, this process of extracting money from the local city/state is very much the game in town in the US. There is a very limited number of franchises, and those franchises can and do relocate to other places that offer more money. Local politicians know this, and it will be clear to current host cities that if you don't cough up, we can and will leave. That at least can't happen here - but it does provide further proof that Attanasio is not involved in sports to make friends and lose money.
