Emile Heskey
This is who I think of when I close my eyes and picture the kind of player Adam could become. I know Heskey is not like some kind of legend of the game, but he was an excellent pro, and justifiably (at the time) got a lot of caps for England.
Adam just gives me the same vibe. He's such a unit. Quick, very strong, awkward. His hold up play is good. He clearly knows where the net is. If he can just put it all together.
Do you remember when Heskey was on the fringes of the England squad, and was selected to play in a friendly against Argentina at Wembley? Keegan apparently fired him up before the game, told him that he could do it all and to believe in himself, and he was then incredible. He absolutely battered the CB trying to mark up. He just couldnt handle him. To the point where (I think) the manager dragged him off and threw on someone else, as Heskey was basically unplayable.
I hope one day to see Adam come out and start obliterating the oppo defence. He's got all the tools in the locker.
