Yes, but….
He left the club in an utter mess. 18 months of disarray after the previous success. The club were days from bankruptcy. The bank forced the sale of Jon Newsome and Ashley Ward for knock down prices to avoid disaster and the adding for Mike Sharon activated by Stoke reaching the playoffs saved the club.
The club was insolvent and trading illegally which forced a director to resign and we had the Dean Windass fiasco, when the Hull chairman accused NCFC, quite rightly, that we didn’t have the money to buy him, which Chase denied.
And then the Chris Sutton, if he leaves I leave, quote from Chase.
For a second time Geoffrey Watling had to save the club from bankruptcy.
It all went t*Ts up for Chase when NCFC slid from 6th at Christmas to relegation despite Chase being sure they would survive, so he told me personally. Gunn not being replaced being a principal reason, after his broken leg.
18 disastrous months cost us a long period in the championship.
