Because of the style we played

Championship teams could not cope with the technical wizardry of our line up.

In the PL, all teams were of at least the same level of technical wizardry, and many much better. What was a considerable advantage in the championship, was no advantage at all in the PL.

Sides like Watford, Brentford, sheff United, didn’t rely on that skill set for promotion. That isn’t to say they weren’t skilful, but they also had athleticism and physicality. Those latter two are what enables a technically lesser side to beat a technically superior side.

We saw that in the PL, even sides we were technically superior too, with our intricate play, just steamrolled us.

Farke is right, but let’s not forget it was him that designed the style of play. Playing that particular style, I think we would have needed a huge budget to be able to compete. Other styles can compete with a much smaller budget.
