I enjoyed it but a bit frustrating that we threw away such a great opportunity

We really cold and should have won that test and i think we will regret not doing so.

As with everything in the Bazball era there was so much going on and so many factors that it doesn't come down to one single thing. Overall i'm on board with the general approach of aggression, scoring quickly and putting the opposition under pressure. Had we held our catches or bowled a few less no-balls then we'd probaboly be saying how Bazball won the day again. We were also unlucky with having to bat in that 3 over spell on Sunday when in my view the conditions were virtually unplayable. And to top it off I think both Anderson and Robinson were not fully match fit and were down a bit on pace compared to normal.

However I do think the declaration was a mistake and I also think the way we gave away our wickets at key moments was hugeky costly. All three of the stumpings off Lyon were avoidable in my view with the Root one in the second innings the most costly. he was batting brilliantly and scoring at will. there was just no need for him to do that and had he and Brook batted for another hour or so then we would have been in complete control.

I really hope they reflect on that and take care of our wickets a bit more at key moments where we need to cash in. Thats not ditching Bazball, its just playing the game in front of you.
