Agree entirely.

Sport is incredibly problematic and the relevant authorities are stepping on mines all the time. There is no simple way out of this and a range of opposing and often mutually exclusive arguments can have merit. I get that entirely.

Personally I think that in the majority of cases individuals and governing bodies are acting in good faith, trying to find answers to difficult questions and these questions won't be answered satisfactorily on a Norwich City messageboard of course. And that's ok.

I didn't see the thread on Lia Thomas to be honest but I respect the thrust of any argument which questions the competitive integrity of events which include some trans athletes. I think most people would feel the same way and would hope these matters are treated with care, discretion and with respect for all 'stakeholders'.

However - and here's the "but" - what I don't accept is bad faith actors using this topic as a trojan horse for their wider views on gender/trans issues.

Some posters on here absolutely cannot help themselves (LADYBOY XI... DO THEY HAVE A PENIS... etc etc) and when their best shot is an eight year old story about an injury in MMA (that notoriously gentle sport) you do have to question their motives.

Thanks for engaging though. A really thorny issue generally which needs to dealt with carefully and not simply with everyone retreating to their trenches.
