I don't find it hard to believe that a player standing to double/triple their salary

(at least) would be keen to remind the club that they want to move on.

Or that their agent (who also stands to make a tonne of money) would threaten to encourage them to down tools if blocked.

Anyone who has managed a team member whose head has been turned will know that it takes a lot of effort to keep them on course until they inevitably depart.

As such, regardless of where this chap has got his info from I'd have been more surprised if Emi hadn't done what had been reported in this.
