We just made a major tournament for the first time in 55 years. We should be praising him, not analysing every detail for how we could have guaranteed a win. It's not possible.

We were the best team first 30 minutes, and the last part. Italy dominated in between yet we conceded only one, scrappy, goal in that period.

We had chances, Italy might have had a red card or two, I think Sterling may well have deserved a penalty also. And we were a bit fortunate with a couple of Italy attacks. That's football.

We would be mad to even consider letting Southgate go.
