You are right. There is almost nothing being done to prevent the spread yet, because the government believe that by asking people to act now, they will not be able to maintain the effort in a few weeks when they think it will matter more. Many in the NHS completely disagree with this. The curve will not be remotely flat and we will not cope ( whatever the strategy from now on). We will run out of ventilators, space, oxygen and most importantly staff to treat you.
So hence my warning to make decisions in the best interest of yourselves and those you care about whilst you can
