Important - please read and take action
I am a long long time lurker on this board and have generally enjoyed most of what I have read, with a special standout thanks to Dr Dubs for everything he does.
I am an NHS consultant working in the North of England, with a wife who is an Anaesthetist.
In four weeks from now, we will not recognise the world around us in the same way. Life as we know it will have stopped. People you know will have died from the virus. It is already far too late to stop. If you carry on as though nothing had happened, you will get the virus and infect others. If we all do that, many more people will die. I don't have a choice about going to work (and will see several of my colleagues die during the next months) but many of you can choose not to go to the pub, the record fair, the whatever...
Please please take this seriously. Now. This is the biggest and worst thing to happen to all of us since WW2. It will need all of our efforts to contain.
If you are over 65 and get the virus, it is very likely we will not have the resources to treat you. So do everything you can not to get it.
If you are under 65, assume you have the virus, and behave so not to spread it.
Please please take this seriously
