Not really sure how helpful it is publishing daily figures for deaths

Just seems to whip up a bit of public panic. We have no real context or idea how many are purely down to the virus or are people who were seriously ill and may have died due to a combination of the virus and other factors.

Once it’s been going on long enough i guess any increase in the usual death rate will be a key barometer but right now I’m not sure I don’t prefer blissful ignorance.
