You dont become the leading international wicket taker over a 12 month period unless you have serious talent.
I know I'm a Worcestershire fan and so I'm biased, but I think he's been hugely sold down the river by England's management and undervalued by a section of the fan base.
He's been overplayed across the three formats over the last five years, shunted up and down the order (every position from 1-9...ffs) and then finally scapegoated last summer when he was playing while still recovering from injury.
He has ruled himself out of contention and so his time may have gone (particularly if one of leech or bess or parkinson click) but I really think the management team need to get a handle on how to manage a squad or we'll constantly be at the mercy of injuries and looking to rebuild after every retirement.
