My thoughts re yesterday, fwiw

Byram was very good. His height is good to have. Impressive considering our left back gets little protection from Hernandez.
Hernandez looked dangerous every time he got the ball. So good to have pace in the side at last. Wonder why Roberts didn't get a chance while Hernandez was out?
Defence looked so much more solid and won lots of headers and blocks with Zimmermann back.
Timu was great at holding up the ball. He is physical, doesn't get knocked off the ball.
We grew in confidence the longer the game went on. At half time there was a feeling we could get something out of the match.
Our short passing from deep in defence appeared again after going missing the last few weeks.
Everton looked devoid of ideas. Lots of long balls, long throw ins. Looked a bit like the old Alladyce side at times. Tried to get the ball in the box as quickly as possible.
We played more long balls than them, but as the away team that is expected. However, McLean won a lot of balls in the air, he is a good header of the ball.
Todd was all action, very busy, ran half the length of the pitch to get on to Timu's pass for his goal, calmly taken. Shame he gets caught in possession a lot. Perhaps need to move the ball on a little quicker. Very good yesterday tho.
All in all must give the team a lot of confidence for the next run of matches where we could pick up a few points.
