The no. of BAME players argument doesn't quite stand up though
Players are 'workers' and managers are 'bosses'. If racism is at play it might be fine with BAME individuals taking orders while not being happy with them in a position where they are giving them.
The argument about them taking time to retire and work through the system etc. seems a bit outdated now too. Given how many surely now-retired BAME players there were 10 or even 20 years ago, say, the proportion of BAME managers still seems very very low (how many can you name?).
Obviously the reason for that isn't clear - for instance it could be because racism stops them being appointed or maybe their expectation of such attitudes stops them even bothering to apply in the first place...
