I don’t believe structures improve outcomes in education one way or the other.

Academies haven’t raised standards nor reduced them. We are where we are and going back would cost a huge amount. LAs now have no capacity at all and this would be very disruptive, costly and a distraction. The same argument applies to transport and utilities IMO. The Tories have their own dogma and ideology (Grammar schools for instance) but they are an easier sell. Labour needs to win an election and as thrings stand they have no chance at all. As a Labour Party member, that’s very frustrating.
