The roar of the crowd etc etc.

Without it is a few drinks in the pub, pretty mundane and dull, the football gives you the buzz.

I suspect there are a few that go for the sake of it, most go because they love it.
I dunno, I think you have to go for the passion it is a bit pointless without it, but it can be routine as well, the experience kicks off the passion.
