It is about growth of a business and future success. We had the funds to invest in infrastructure but we spent them on players. All areas need to grow toghether or the business becomes unbalanced and the neglected areas usually drag the other ones down.

The extra capacity of stadium expansion is not a one dimensional thing, it can be managed like any other area of a business to generate revenue and offer cheaper seats to entice younger fans in, to hook them into the brand and have some long term plans for the future of the club. Like I say the ship has sailed now though.
