I'm not so sure either Mulumbu or Jarvis would be first choice
Not now anyway.
Mulumbu was out of the picture for all of last season while fit. Jarvis initially impressed and hopefully he will return, though it does beg the question why he then went and bought Canos too.
Another thing that troubles me is the way certain players are forgotten about, such as Mulumbu last season, for whatever reason and that must make it difficult to then bring them back in and expect them to play well. Jim has already mentioned Bennett, but Whittaker has now on several occasions disappeared from view only to be brought back in and fail again.
Jarvis by the way is one of the most extraordinary signings I can recall. Spending money on him (and his wages) while we already had him on loan was quite something. I can only think (and haven't checked) that it was to allow us to take another loan. None of it worked out in the end of course. I do wonder whether agents (and other clubs) know we are desperate and do Neil up like a kipper sometimes.
