(being Devils Advocate) The 'Guy who knows what he is doing' will still be limited in his
ability if he's coming to us. He won't be a top quality manager, but of course could be one good enough to get us up and keep us up.
Adams is an unknown quality, putting up with his learning curve could mean we end up with a manager with the ability to go to the top of the game. Every manager has to start somewhere and the board must have seen something in him (I hope) that made them think he had potential.
Ready made top draw managers don?t come to clubs our size, our only chance of getting one is making one ourselves, same as we have to do with top draw players.
Football isn?t an exact science.
FWIW I?m not convinced Adams is the right man and I wouldn?t be adverse to us changing managers if we got the right one in.
