well I think my point is that..

all things being equal I would prefer an attractive style over an unattractive one but at the end of the day results come first. If I genuinely thought Pulis was more likely to get us good results than Laudrup (say) I would reluctantly prefer Pulis, though this isn't the case (I'd rather a competent negative manager than an incompetent positive one)

And I do of course enjoy watching Barcelona/Bayern goals on highlights programmes where I can appreciate the artistry without having to worry about losing the uncertainty of outcome that provides the thrill of live sport.
