I'm not sure that last sentence is true

Lambert's tactics with us (and with Villa) in the Premier League were to let the opposition have a lot of the ball and to try to hit them on fast counter attacks. That is why his away record is good and his home record is poor.

Under Hughton, this season in particular, we have looked to dominate possession more and control games. Obviously, we are in a transition period and it hasn't always worked, particularly against the better sides, but it will almost certainly make us a better team in the long run. There is only so far you can go being a solely counter attacking team.
