Lambo to Villa or anywhere else for that matter

I am sure they probably are interested in him. They would be stupid not to be. I also think if Villa stay up he would probably go there as it is probably the sort of club that could be turned around quite easily (to get back to a sort of 7th/8th type position) and he would see it as a stepping stone to the sort of job her really covets at one of the big clubs.

It will be very interesting indeed to see how up for it we are on the last day of the season if there is a chance we can send them down.

The main point of my post though is that i have decided it is no longer worth getting too stressed over the possibility of Lambert's departure. It is inevitable and i feel there is a reasonable chance it will happen this summer/by christmas (whether its to Villa or anyone else) because he is a very good manager, he is very ambitious and he doesn;t appear to be the type to stick around out of sentiment. Thats fine. Thats what we recruited from colchester and it has served us well.

He has done the hard work. the club has been transformed and we are back at the top level and will be there again next season. We have a squad full of young, hungry and decent players which gives us a good chance of staying up next season. Crucially we also have a board who know what they are doing now and who i trust to get in the right replacement if Lambo does go. It will be an attractive job and there will be plenty of candidates. All in all I therefore think we will be ok and life will go on.

For that reason, when he does go, i hope it is done quickly and at the right time to enable us to appoint our new manager and get on with things. If several jobs become available and that has to be this summer then so be it. Get it over and done with and we can all move on.

That said if he is still our manager come the end of next season i will of course be utterly delighted. Best manager in my supporting lifetime for what he has achieved.
