We should remember
That FF was on the original list of players we wanted for the start of last season, were priced out of another season loan by Newcastle, so it would not surprise me at all if we were in for him.
In a fans forum it was stated that NCFC were quoted an excessive loan fee (as FF was in demand) that would have been the third highest fee paid in our pre-season acquisition of players, presumably the two higher fees were Surman and Jackson. I can?t recall exactly what said but it appeared that what we could get better value elsewhere, hence Ruddy joining us.
As regards Ruddy, my impression was that he played much better away from home in the first part of the season, and I was informed that he was more comfortable away from Carrow Road due to the crowd. Not surprising news to me that one when I heard it.
My view is that I hope we stick with Ruddy, I thought he improved over the season, but what I really know about football can be written on the postage stamp so you can discount this bit if you want to.
Whoever we end up with between the sticks will have my support.
