The whole thing is bizarre

Sacking a highly experienced Champions League winning player and coach and replacing him with a 33-year old who has never played the game and who got in to coaching only because he lived in the same apartment block as Bobby Robson in Oporto and started asking him a few questions.

If the intention was to give a young manager a go and invest in him to provide continuity for the next 10-15 years (a la Wenger) then fine. But you just know that will never happen. He'll be gone in a year.
