Is having children fun?

Having experienced other people's babies/toddlers I came to the conclusion that 20-30 minutes is about as much as I can take before I want to leave and never see them again. I assume it is 100% different when it's your own but I just can't imagine how. It seems like your life has to be 99% devoted to the child and the 1% comes when it's asleep.

Is it one of those "you can't explain it until it's yours" things?
