...it now makes more and more sense.

Deehan isn't just a scout, he's a mentor too.
People want to come and help out, and that seem to including the players wanting to do well for him. The people he's had messages from show that if he brings the personality and man management skills, the experience will come through mentoring and advice.

Just hope every single person (obviously excepting the Soton fans) in the stadium on Tuesday night gets behind him and the team, cos the fans are a big part of this too.
