is a good point. But I think gets to the nub of things a bit.
There is a respectable argument, I think, that given the mess we're in, we can't take a risk this time. In particular, we need someone who's proved he can manage people, and so won't alienate half the squad the way Roeder did. Otherwise we're down for sure.
On the other hand....experienced managers out there are generally available either because they're past it or they've failed.
I dunno - half of me wants us to take a gamble on someone, with all the upside there might be with that. But on the other hand, the downside of any gamble is pretty immense right now....
