Plan A: The Dreamteam

Perhaps the board's plan A was to appoint both Worthy and Boothroyd. They got on well when they both worked at Colney, and Worthy was supposedly v pissed off when Boothroyd was allowed to leave. If both came, then Worthy could have kept his NI job. As it was, the NI FA scuppered the plan and the board have to decide if Boothroyd could do it alone. Only a guess, but it makes a kinf of sense.
